These boots are made for walking

Jumper- H&M
Jeans- Old H&M (Similar)
Coat- Topshop Petite
Boots- Betsy
Bag- The Biscuit Factory tote
Hat- unknown

First of all; Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it and are reading this on December 25th! I hope you are having a wonderful day.
I was in Edinburgh last week with my photography class, and stumbled upon this jumper whilst in H&M with a friend and I knew I had to have it. I have been lusting over sparkly items for weeks now, and I love the green of the jumper as well as the oversized fit and the thickness of it- it is certainly cosy and warm! I think it maybe makes me look sliiightly like a fisherman, but I will work with that. I have been in dire need of some new boots, especially for when it is raining or showing outside; and I stumbled upon these boots by coincidence when I was Christmas shopping in Tynemouth. They remind me of Dr Martens but they have zips around the opening, which is really cool and makes an outfit slightly more edgy and rock n roll. The photos were taken by my resident photographer (my dad!) whilst out on a walk earlier this week. Next Tuesday (29th) is my 18th birthday, so I am hoping to do some sort of birthday themed post for that.

Christmas jumper day

My first Christmas jumper EVER has come out of the depths of my wardrobe in time for the Festive season. It isn't the most Christmassy jumper, but it is really cute and was only £7.50 in Sainsbury last year- so who could argue? If I am honest, I wouldn't buy another as I'd rather invest in a more wearable jumper, so this one will have to sustain the annual Christmas Jumper Day, as long as possible. I wore it with my Glamorous skirt from last year (M&S have recently produced an exact copy of this skirt, which is rather disgraceful of them, but it's available here). I also wore my faux fur Miss Selfridge coat, as it is getting veerryy chilly in the North East now. My bag is from Antik Batik and I am in love with it. It is so stunning, well made and the perfect size for days out when you don't need to carry a huge amount. These photos were taken on a walk to Tynemouth where we went to Dil and the Bear for Lunch before going to the market and treating myself to a piece from Ruby & Frank boutique (which I am going to style for a blog post so- watch this space!)

Trying gluten free snacks from Holland and Barrett

I initially went into Holland & Barrett for Lentil Chips as they are my absolute FAVOURITE gluten free snack, but went a bit nuts when I heard it was buy one, get one half price so decided to try some new snacks for my blog. The first snack I tried was these apple crisps from Emily Fruit Crisps which were £1.79. I have never been overly keen on fruit crisps because they are often quite mushy and have little flavour, but these still tasted of fresh apple and were lovely and crispy. This is due to them being cooked in a vacuum, which helps them retain flavour and health benefits. These crisps are gluten free, vegan and contain no added sugar, preservatives or additives- so a very healthy snack for on the go! (Also, how stunning is the packaging?!)

I then tried these Raw Chocolate Goji Berries, from the Raw Chocolate Co. I think I heard Amelia Liana mention these in a vlog and was desperate to try them! These are gluten free and vegan, as the chocolate is made with coconut butter. These were seriously delicious and cost £1.49.

Being gluten free, most crisps are off the menu for me but these crisps are some of the best I have tried and the bag size is perfect if you have a big appetite (like myself!). I got the chilli and lemon flavour which are just hot enough and at only 79p for a fairly big bag; they're a common staple in my diet when I am out.

I thought these sounded really tasty. I always eat seeds in my granola and with yogurt for breakfast, and I think they taste especially good with honey. These seeds are cooked with coconut and honey, and were very good but not quite sweet enough for me, and were the most expensive snack I bought at £1.99.

The AC/AG jeans dress

Okay, okay. So this isn't THE AC/AG jeans dress, but how do you expect a poor student such as myself to be able to afford the original? Since the collection was launched, I have been lusting after so many of the pieces from it, as well as the high street versions. I especially loved the button up denim shirt dress, and tried on the Miss Selfridge version in York in January. However, I was unsure of which size to get so decided to go back to my local store with someone to help me, but they didn't stock it near me anywhere! Eventually, I snapped this one up on Depop and was close to tears when the seller said she could do it for £15 including postage....

Initially, I was planning on taking these photos outside but my damn hat kept blowing away! After last year, when this same hat blew away under a moving car, I have been very afraid of wearing floppy hats in blustery weather. Trying to find a pretty background indoors resulted in me having to move my desk and everything on it, to be able to take photos of myself in front of my gallery wall. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter then you may have noticed the absence of my fringe..... I was going to grow it out until I got serious hair envy over Samantha Maria and now I can't decide whether or not to keep it! I have had my faux fur coat for nearly a year, but haven't managed to shoot photos of it yet! It was a Christmas present from my Aunt and Uncle, although I got it in February as we rarely see them. I had wanted a faux fur coat for ages, and looked for one in the Christmas sales, but they had all sold out in my size. Mine makes me feel very Kate Moss and is so warm, for when the weather is cold and miserable. It also looks so stylish with jeans and an oversized jumper, or dressed up for the evening with a dress or skirt!

I adore my leopard print beret. I have had it for a few years but have recently rediscovered it and had forgotten how much I love wearing it! I get really cold ears around this time of year, so hats are definitely essential to me. The trend of big, oversized scarves is also amazing. I got mine from H&M in September, and loved the softness and pattern of it. However, I only realized once I got home that it has 'Kyoto' on it in huge letters, oops. I don't think this is noticeable when it is worn, and I love how large it is- it really keeps you snuggly and warm in the cold weather! The Topshop coat is my new A/W coat for this year, and it I love the simplistic shape of it and the contrasting colour detailing under the collar and cuffs. It feels very Alexa Chung and Parisian, and is really good quality. Soon, however, I think I may have to break out my faux fur jacket permanently as it is getting rather chilly in the North East of England!
