I cannot believe that another month has nearly been and gone! The beginning of June marks my final month of sixth form, and the end of my photography and fine art A levels, which is a scary thought! On the 22nd, I will have finished college forever and I can’t wait. This past month, I have five favourite things to share with you all, some beauty and some books.
Mac lipsticks in Mehr and Velvet Teddy– I know I am very late to the partaay, but this month I made my first Mac purchases. I have obviously watched everyone’s Mac lipstick collection videos and can name the shade from someone’s selfie, but I’d never actually shopped there. Inspired by the mega-babe Megan Ellaby, I decided to ease myself into Mac products by purchasing Mehr and Velvet Teddy, which are both such wearable shades- although now I have the daily struggle of choosing which one to wear! They are both very natural pinks, which I love and the staying power of them is SO good, I only have to re-apply every few hours- and the colour doesn’t bleed at all!
Tom Ford Black Orchid– Apart from Ted Baker and The Body Shop body sprays, I never owned any fragrances. I adore YSL and Givenchy scents, but my budget sadly doesn’t stretch that far! As you can imagine, when I received this for part of my Christmas present I was over the moon. It is such a sexy scent, perfect if you have any dates planned, and wearing it always makes me feel so much more confident as it often brings me compliments!
As You Like magazine– Whilst in France last summer, I picked up As You Like in a supermarket, as I loved the photography and can still read French from my GCSE course. It’s a French blogging magazine and, similar to Blogosphere, it is split into sections for fashion, lifestyle etc, which makes finding inspiration for my own little blog much easier. My dad supports Lens, a French football team, so pops over from time to time to watch a match or two, and when he last visited, I asked him to pick me up the latest copy. Not only are the fashion bloggers who are featured in this issue totally my style, but there is a mojito recipe- can I get a hell yeah?!
Man Repeller by Leandra Medine- I love Leandra’s blog, Man Repeller, but had no idea she had written a book. I hadn’t read a book in ages (massive oops), and the reviews of this are great so I decided to order a copy. Her book is a cross between an autobiography and a fashion book; Leandra talks her way through life defining clothing and accessories, from the socks she wore when she lost her virginity to the dress- disaster worn when she had her first kiss. It is a really funny, relatable and well written book, which I would highly recommend!
