Until recently, I was not a band shirt kinda girl. I loved them in my emo days, but never felt comfortable in them since. Of course, I kind of HAD to buy a Muse shirt when I saw them in Manchester- I mean, come on?! Due to the fact that it is so soft (and also the fact that it isn't overpowering or too much of a statement), I have worn it so much since.

Unboxing: Cambridge Satchel Company x Vivienne Westwood

Hello from Brighton!
This is a bit of a different post for me, and I certainly never thought that I would be writing about such an exciting purchase aged 18! Okay, I know that the Cambridge Satchel Company aren't really designer or highly expensive compared to other brands, but as a student; it was an amazing treat to get and I feel so lucky!
I stumbled upon the Cambridge Satchel Company shop in Brighton on Sunday, and HAD to have a nosy in. They stock the most beautiful, well made satchels and I have been lusting after one since seeing Sophia post about hers! My parents were initially going to put money towards my new lens, as a reward for working hard at college and bagging my apprenticeship but, as my Grandparents bought me it for Christmas, they said I could have something else. I spotted this beauty of a bag in the sale, and we agreed to split the cost, as it was a bit pricey for what they wanted to spend. I um-ed and ah-ed between this and the plain versions, but this one is SO unusual and quirky (and made in collaboration with one of my favourite designers) so I was happy to put my own money in to get it!

Rising up

I have already addressed body image and mental health a bit on here, but I have been meaning to talk about it again, for so long. (I know that some of these photos are slightly soft in focus but I like them, plus new lens problems, am I right?) Also, I totally got the name of this post from having been listening to Young Guns' entire back catalogue since their new music was released.

Bright eyes, blue denim

If you are a bit of a photography nerd, you may notice the difference in these photos from usual, due to my new 35mm lens! My grandparents bought me it as an early birthday/Christmas present before the 'value of the pound falls even more', and I am so happy with it. My photos are much more clear and crisp and I have been hoarding outfits to shoot in Brighton with it...

Vintage dress of dreams

If I were to get married anytime soon (unlikely, I know), you can be damn sure that I would be wearing THIS dress. I am honestly in love. Bird on A Wire vintage have an amazing instagram account and I first spotted this dress on the model and was obsessed with the ruffles on the back of it. A couple of months later, I decided to buy it, and have never been filled with more anticipation when waiting for a parcel to arrive.

Pink sleeves

A while ago, I saw a dip-dyed striped shirt on an Instagram ad and was desperate for it, but £95 seemed a bit steep for something I knew I could make myself for under £10....
I used a Dylon Dye in Powder Pink, which is only £3, and dyed a £4 Primark top, so the whole project cost £7, which is more than a tenth of the price of the original shirt.

Where I get fashion inspiration from

Today on le blog, I wanted to talk about places I get fashion inspiration from, as I always find it interesting to learn about other people's fashion inspirations and I enjoy talking about all things fashion anyway.
First up are blogs and some of my favourite fashion bloggers are;

Pages by Megan- Okay, so I am sliiightly obsessed with Megan's blog at the moment. I love her bold clashing of prints and colours, and her photography is always beautiful. Her vintage/tomboy/rock and roll style fits in perfectly with the streets of Manchester, where most of her outfit photos are taken.

What Olivia Did- Liv is one of the first bloggers I ever followed and have always loved how she combines vintage and high street. She also has the best photographer boyfriend ever, meaning her blog photography is always stunning.

Kate La Vie- I love Kate's mainly monochromatic style, paired with the pops of pink she's been incorporating into her outfits lately. It is also nice to see how another blogger from even further North than me handles the unpredictable weather when dressing!

Holly loves the simple things- Holly is killing it at the moment, I am loving how her style has evolved to feature more colour, pattern and texture; which I am very into anyway. She is also drop dead gorgeous and I am insanely jealous of her ginger hair!

The Lovecats inc- Helen is a local blogger who encompasses Parisian dressing perfectly. I love how simple her outfits are, but the combinations of tailoring and fabrics works so well. I also adore how she mixes designer shoes and bags with high street bargains from the likes of Zara and Topshop.

Cami tops and anything which looks vaguely pyjama-esque are bang on trend at the moment and I am loving it. I am also loving wearing black bras with everything because my comfiest bras are black, so until I get some paler ones, I'm going to be rocking the black-bra-under-pale-clothing-look.

My new skincare routine for subclinical acne

Subclinical definition- relating to or denoting a disease which is not severe enough to present definite or readily observable symptoms.
So, recently, I have been diagnosed with 'subclinical acne', which is basically where you get spots which just form bumps but don't come to a head or scar. This is obviously better than 'normal' acne in some ways, however it is still noticeable and has made my forehead really sore, dry and itchy. Subclinical acne is often worsened by stress (thanks exam season) and a bad diet (which I don't have). Due to this, I have changed up my skincare routine slightly and have been using less oily products as this type of acne is often caused by excess oils from products which are used on your face, so I have been using more scrubs as well as products for oilier skin.
