It has been ages since I went charity shopping, but an impulsive decision to go the other week ended in me finding a dress with a lot of potential. It was too big, not to mention too long, but with a couple of tucks along the neckline and a bit (okay a lot) of the hem taking up- it has been transformed into the perfect 60s mini dress.

I may have shortened it a tad too much, but if Jane Birkin and Twiggy can wear dresses this short, then why can't I? It definitely isn't the type of dress you want to be leaning over in, regardless I can imagine it looking amazing over tights and a roll-neck jumper in A/W.
To toughen the dress up slightly (I totally channeled Ed Miliband's 'Am I tough enough? Hell yes, I'm tough enough' speech), and threw on my black boots. To keep a girly edge and to add some texture, I paired the look with my new cord jacket from Primark, which was a bargain at £12 and adds a more modern twist to the very retro style dress. I think I have mentioned this before on here, but I love combining pieces which are quite 60s inspired with more 90s inspired items, to create a slightly more up to date look.
