Reinventing basics with SheIn

Today I am working with a clothing brand called SheIn, who have been around since 2008, and "are dedicated to providing the most cutting-edge fashion with some of the lowest prices in the entire industry." (SheIn.com). They currently have warehouses in China, Europe and America,  meaning that delivery can be quick and easy wherever you live!

I chose this gorgeous embroidered shirt to style, as embroidery is one of the trends for A/W and it is an easy way of breathing life into a more traditional item of clothing, such as this striped button-up shirt. Although the price of the shirt was so affordable, the quality is amazing! I can be a bit of a fabric snob, but the fabric feels really lovely and not too structured- which I hate in shirts. The embroidery is also really beautiful and makes the shirt look a lot more expensive than it retails for. This style of shirt is everywhere at the moment as well, I saw a lot of similar ones in Zara last weekend and have also seen plenty on Pinterest, so this one by SheIn is a much more affordable option!

I paired it with a velvet miniskirt, which was given to me by my nan and I took it up to make it a better length for me. Velvet is also very on trend for A/W, and I am loving it! I never thought I'd be a huge fan but there are so many great pieces available at the moment and I am so tempted to try my hand at dressmaking with velvet!

Originally, I wanted to wear the outfit with fishnets (in order to be able to quote Arctic Monkeys, naturally), but spotted these tights instead and thought they were really cute. Obviously, I also had to wear my new silver boots (I am obsessed). As shirts can look quite office-y, which definitely isn't me, I added my trusty baker boy cap for a dressed down, retro edge.

I've booked next Monday-Wednesday off work so am looking forward to getting really on top of my blog and shooting lots of outfit photos! On Saturday, I am visiting Huddersfield University to look around for next year, and I am excited to hopefully get to explore the city a bit as well.

  5. The first thing I though was: tights are a bold statement, and I love it! I have to play around a bit more with textures. Best wishes, Iga www.igaberry.com
