The skin detox with Facetox

*Disclaimer- I was actually wearing a towel in these photos, it just ended up cropped out*
A few months ago, I asked Twitter (of course) what posts everyone wanted to see and most people said fashion, thus I embarked on a solely fashion-focused blog despite my post about Subclinical Acne remaining one of my most popular ever!
I am still passionate about skincare and beauty in general; despite my method of applying eyeshadow being more finger-blending than using different brushes. Sorry bout it. When Facetox got in touch after reading my acne post and offered to send me their Extract, Pull and Detoxify kit to try out- how could I say no?

What's in the box?

You get seven days worth of masks in the kit (I know!), as well as a mixing bowl and spatula which are in a rather on-trend purple. The mask isn't premixed, meaning that you have to combine the two sachets together before applying the mask to your face. The first sachet contains 100% pure calcium bentonite clay powder and the second sachet contains 100% organic rose water.  The masks are also vegan, cruelty- free and organic, so you know that you aren't putting anything nasty onto your skin!

What are the benefits?

What aren't the benefits?
These masks help to:
  • Draw out toxins
  • Treat acne
  • Unclog and shrink pores
  • Prevent blackheads
  • Reduce appearance of scars
  • Exfoliate skin
  • Even out skin tone
  • And finally, leave skin feeling softer!

Most importantly, does it work?

After the first couple of uses, my skin did suffer from a bit of a breakout, however, this can occur sometimes when impurities are drawn out of the skin. Aside from that, my skin honestly does feel a lot clearer and I have noticed a decrease in the number of blackheads around my nose and chin. The scarring that I have from blemishes has also noticeably decreased and is much less red; as is my skin in general.

After removing the mask each time, my skin was quite a lot redder and dryer, but the redness subsided after about ten minutes and the dryness was rectified by slapping on some of my moisturiser and vitamin E oil. I would say that these were the only slightly negative points about the masks. Despite my busy work schedule, I still managed to use a mask a day apart from when I got back from my French lessons on Tuesday.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Facetox masks! They are on the more pricey side but, if you have problematic skin which you want fixing, then it is worth the price. I noticed the effects straight after using the mask the first time, and the results do get better with continued use.

  2. I love the note that you were wearing a towel. I post one photo on Insta and it did look that I am full nude. Obviously I was not as it's winter and I am always cold but I just left it without a word. Best Wishes, Iga www.igaberry.com
