The perfect 60s mini dress

I am now back at work after a really nice three-day weekend, which was definitely needed after what was not the best week. The highlight of my weekend was Sunday where my mum and I headed to the Boiler Shop in Newcastle for the Vintage Weigh and Pay sale, which was really good! I love the whole idea behind it and bagged some pretty great pieces, it was just a shame that payday wasn't until a few days later, but thanks for the presents, mum! If you haven't heard of it, the Vintage Weigh and Pay sale is a really affordable way to buy vintage, paying £15 per kilo of items instead of per item. One of the items I got is a gorgeous maxi-dress which will be perfect for wherever we decide to go on holiday this year, but I am also thinking about doing a post based around styling maxi dresses for Winter since it goes oh-so-well with my leather jacket.

Hey hey! So last week was pretty good, I got an offer from Manchester Met university and was given an unconditional offer whilst at my Huddersfield interview, so I am really chuffed with myself! Hopefully this weekend I am going to a vintage kilo sale, which will be amazing and I am hoping to find some new pieces for super cheap.

Speaking of vintage, you may remember me working with Hillhouse Vintage last year on a post but, if not, then they are an incredible shop on ASOS Marketplace who sell vintage bags for even more incredible prices. They have also kindly given me a discount code for my readers! If you are in the market for a new bag then you can use the code 'Bisous20' to get 20% off full-priced items.

The bag I chose this time is giving me serious YSL vibes, and I love the gold chain strap. It is a small size, with not much width to it but is a good size for my card holder, phone and lipstick- the everyday essentials! I really like the moc-croc fabric and the gold detailing on the front, it may not be YSL but it is a gorgeous bag!

Sacred Monster

I have been excited about this week for a while now! Firstly for this blog post, as these photos which I took with Emma a couple of weeks ago are my favourites of me ever and also for my university interview at Huddersfield, which is on Wednesday. It is also NE1 Restaurant Week, which is possibly my favourite week in Newcastle; there are so many amazing deals on in local restaurants so it is a great chance to try new food.

As in keeping with one of my new year's resolutions to shop less, I haven't been doing much high street sales shopping and instead have been doing more Depop, charity shop and vintage scouring to find some new pieces for less, and am so happy that this entire outfit (excluding the accessories) is secondhand!

Being surrounded by 'perfect', airbrushed celebrities in magazines, films and TV and on social media can be extremely difficult. It is so easy to compare yourself to a filtered photo of someone who looks flawless who in real life has imperfections; just like we all do. I'm guilty of it myself. The blogging industry is so huge now and there are so many gorgeous women in it, who I definitely compare myself to whenever they post on Instagram or share a new blog post in which they look amazing. Unlike most of them, I am not a makeup pro, I have more expertise in skincare, which I think is the best way of creating a good base for your makeup anyway.

Misfit Cosmetics are a new company who offer luxury products at affordable prices, with the aim of helping their customers achieve an 'Instagram-filtered' look without needing to add a filter. Their tagline is '#WhoNeedsAFilter', which is something I can definitely get on board with as I believe we should celebrate our natural beauty and the way that we were made. It's what makes us unique.

Hello 2017

Happy New Year! It is so strange to think that it is now 2017; where has the time gone?! I am now back at work after a really lovely break and am feeling so inspired with my blog posts; I actually have content planned until the middle of March!
