Being surrounded by ‘perfect’, airbrushed celebrities in magazines, films and TV and on social media can be extremely difficult. It is so easy to compare yourself to a filtered photo of someone who looks flawless who in real life has imperfections; just like we all do. I’m guilty of it myself. The blogging industry is so huge now and there are so many gorgeous women in it, who I definitely compare myself to whenever they post on Instagram or share a new blog post in which they look amazing. Unlike most of them, I am not a makeup pro, I have more expertise in skincare, which I think is the best way of creating a good base for your makeup anyway.
Misfit Cosmetics are a new company who offer luxury products at affordable prices, with the aim of helping their customers achieve an ‘Instagram-filtered’ look without needing to add a filter. Their tagline is ‘#WhoNeedsAFilter’, which is something I can definitely get on board with as I believe we should celebrate our natural beauty and the way that we were made. It’s what makes us unique.
If you’re a returning visitor to my blog then you will know how much I love caring for my skin, so was really excited to try the Blackhead Extraction Paste. I’ve always had very stubborn blackheads around my nose, many a pore-strip has tried and failed to remove them, so I didn’t have much belief in this product working if I’m honest! However, this product has exceeded my expectations and has definitely earnt its place as Misfit Cosmetics ‘star’ product. The paste is almost tar-like in consistency which makes it really easy to get a layer thick enough to peel off without any hassle; always my favourite bit! I’ve been using it around my nose every couple of days for about a month now and have noticed how much better my skin is and I also have next-to-no blackheads anymore.
Since sorting out my teeth by getting braces when I was younger, I have been keen to keep my teeth in perfect condition but had never tried teeth whitening! The Shine Teeth Whitening Powder is made from activated carbon which comes in the form of a black powder and makes for really great-looking black teeth during use; oh-so-attractive. I have pretty good teeth anyway (so modest), I don’t drink coffee or eat too much sugar which are both causes of tooth stains, but I have noticed a difference in the whiteness of my teeth since using the product and will continue to use it for months to come; a little really does go a long way!
I don’t think I have mentioned this on my blog before but I have struggled with my sleep for years now. I think it is due to always having too much on my mind, I am constantly thinking up new ideas for my blog posts and am a big old worrier which both cause problems when I am trying to sleep, For ages I had been interested in a multitude of different pillow sprays, sleep-promoting candles and oils but they all seemed to be so expensive! The Slumber Natural Sleep Oil retails at only £7.99 which is amazing value. Lavender is great for helping you sleep, and I like to burn this for about an hour before bed to help me sleep better and also put a couple of drops on my pillowcase so that I breathe in the scent better; which definitely helps me sleep easier!
I would love to know if any of you have tried Misfit Cosmetics and if you love their products as much as I do!
