Not your baby

So, it isn't actually a Tuesday but I've been thinking about changing my posting day for a while and have finally done it. I do usually like to start each post with a round-up of my previous week, but I am really struggling to think about what I did, aside from go to work, meet up with friends and get a fair bit of my hair cut off! I am, however, finally back with some fashion content (it’s been a couple of weeks, I know) and I am so happy about it.

As much as I do enjoy writing about events and lifestyle, the main focus of my blog is fashion and it is what I am hugely passionate about. Part of the reason I am excited about this fashion post is the photos, which were taken by my friend Katie, who is also a North East blogger as well as an amazing photographer!

Coat- Shrimps via Depop    Pussybow blouse- Reclaimed Vintage on ASOS    Skirt- Topshop via Depop  (similar)   Bag- Kate Spade   Tights- Primark    Boots- Rocket Dog C/O Brantano

One thing which always makes me value my blog more is getting to work with brands, as it is amazing to be recognised for the content I am creating. Today I am working with Brantano and they sent me some incredible wellies to style; if you know me, then you know my love of wellies!

These wellies-which-look-like-boots are by Rocket Dog and have a slight Dr Marten meets Converse vibe to them. I've actually mainly been wearing them just as boots so far but they'll definitely be coming with me to Leeds Festival to see Muse in August. Usually, wellies don't have great staying power on my feet (thanks, skinny ankles) but the laces on these wellies make them stay on my feet better than the others which I've had. For added interest, I am also excited about wearing the boots with coloured laces!

I styled the boots with fishnets and my beloved Topshop denim button up skirt which I got from Depop. To add a more retro vibe, I wore a pussybow blouse which I got from Reclaimed Vintage on ASOS, it is massively oversized and has 'Not your baby' embroidered on the ties, which I thought was a really cute detail. Embroidery is still very much in this season, and shirts like this are a more subtle, easy way of incorporating the trend.

It wouldn't be a 'me' outfit post without a bright colour, so I added my Shrimps coat into the look. This coat is still a firm favourite and I love how it looks against my hair. For accessories, I kept it to my usual few jewellery pieces and also wore my beloved Kate Spade bag, which I have probably rambled on enough about on here, but it is honestly one of my best purchases ever!
