I haven't got a stitch to wear

I think everyone has those days where they don't have 'anything' to wear. Usually, it is just due to being stuck in a rut with fashion or not feeling yourself quite as much and, to be honest, I have these days a lot!

Most of the time when I am in this kind of mood, I opt for a similar outfit to the one in this post. An A-line denim skirt goes with everything and gives off super cool Alexa Chung-vibes, as well as being a nod to the 70s; it is my ultimate fail safe. Said style of skirt, such as this Topshop offering, is very versatile indeed and can be worn with any T-shirt, button-up shirt, jumper, cami.... the list is endless. A-line skirts are also something which I feel confident in, and know looks good on even when I am having a bit of a meh day, hence why I own a large collection of them.

The photos in this post were taken by the extremely lovely and talented Claire the other week, and we shot around the Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle. I love how the photos came out and have honestly been so desperate to put this post up to share them!

Jumper, Skirt, bag- Depop  (Alternative JumperSkirt, Bag)     Tights- Primark      Shoes- (Old) Next
You know that sinking feeling you get when you see a blogger wearing an amazing piece which is perfect for your wardrobe, only to find out that it is from Ebay/ Depop/ Vintage, thus unobtainable to yourself? I saw this super cool dinosaur jumper on Sophia Rosemary on Instagram months ago and had been scouring Depop and Ebay since; I was that besotted by it. Luckily, my 'hard work' paid off and found the very same jumper for myself, it is originally Fat Face boys but fits me really well, I am just a little sad that there isn't much time to wear now with the weather starting to get warmer.

I'd been loving basket bags on some of my favourite Instagram babes including Francesca, Rachael, Harriet and Carrie (I also obviously was inspired by Jane Birkin), so thought it was about time I picked up my own. Unfortunately for me, all of the dreamy Zara offerings had sold out, and I wasn't going to give in to the people selling them BNWT on Ebay for twice the RRP, so took to Depop, and found this (slightly massive) bag, which I love (mainly because it has plenty of space in for snacks, I'll be honest). Initially, I felt a little bit weird carrying it as, around where I live doesn't tend to be the most understanding of current fashions, and I have been on the receiving end of some slightly odd comments before. This particular instance involved a man shouting 'Oi Dorothy' at me, which I took as a compliment since The Wizard of Oz is fab and Dorothy is also v cool.

As my skirt is a little short to wear sans tights, I opted for my last pair (!) of fishnets and wore my beloved Next trainers with them. As much as I do love boots, I have been opting for trainers so much more recently, they are so comfortable and effortless in terms of styling. The pink shade of them is also really on-trend for S/S17, so I am oh-so glad that they have withstood the test of time and are still going strong a year since I initially got them.

  7. Hi Holly Olivia, I feel like you so often. Especially when I don't feel in my skin and nothing fits me. But I love your outfit. That skirt and fishnets look great together. And your sneakers are perfect!

  8. This bag is amazing! I am so happy for you that you found it on Depop. I've been through that feeling of seeing something unobtainable so often in the past. Then, I realized that I didn't have to be upset over what they had. Instead, I had to find my own one of a kind item. I think Etsy is a great place to find unique items to make into your own style.

  9. Omg your sweater! NEED!! Such a cute look dear!

  10. These photos are ADORABLE! <3
