Pop

Meet my new obsession; Pop Boutique. I've visited their stores twice in the past couple of weeks and have (unfortunately for my bank balance) been unable to walk away empty-handed. I visited their store in Leeds the other week and picked up both of the pieces that I'm wearing in this post and then had to pop into their Manchester branch whilst I was there for a shoot at the weekend. They are a brand that I truly love, they sell hand selected vintage (be still my beating heart) as well as new clothing which is designed by them. Amazingly, despite processing at least 10,000 kilos of vintage each week, no garments go to waste, any which are not saleable are recycled.

Not only is their brand great in general, but I love the layout and styling of their shops, the Manchester branch has a neon sign over the door which is really cool and instead of using carrier bags, they use Pop Boutique branded fabric totes which I now own two of and am excited to use day-to-day.

The photos for this post were taken by my friend Becka, who is a third-year photography student also at the University of Huddersfield and I love how they've turned out; she is so talented and I am excited to work with her more!

The first piece which caught my eye in the Pop Boutique Leeds shop was this Prince of Wales check dress, which is one of the key prints for A/W17 so is really on-trend and is such a flattering fit. It has a buckle at the waist on the back which can be adjusted to suit your body shape better, which I think is such a nice touch and makes the print feel less formal.

The dress goes perfectly with this vintage orange jumper which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. I love the colour of it, orange is one of my new favourite colours as I adore how it looks on me, and the knit and cropped sleeves make it perfect for the warmer Autumn days. This jumper has already been worn so much that I have had to wash it, so I am definitely getting cost per wear down!

Obviously, I chose to style the dress and jumper with a pair of fishnets, which have unfortunately now ripped, but I love how they dress the look down and add a more grungy vibe. The shoes have been featured before on my blog a couple of times but are my favourite shoes at the moment, I love how they look and they are so comfy for walking in.

The bag is a new addition to my collection, Beara Beara are a brand who I have been seeing all over my favourite blogs and Instagram accounts and who, not only make great bags but have good brand values as well. They are London based but work a lot with local artists in Bolivia to provide safe employment in the area, which is amazing considering the exploitation of workers in recent years. The bag itself is such a beautiful design and is so vintage inspired, which is what I love about all of Beara Beara's bags. They also believe in making quality products which will stand the test of time without needing to be replaced, which I am all for.
