Lucy and Yak

First of all, apologies again for going slightly AWOL but I've had so much work to catch up on since changing uni courses so have had less free time to shoot for my blog! I am going to be going down to posting fortnightly, which will hopefully give me more time to shoot, edit and write each post; fingers crossed that I can keep up with it.

A pair of dungarees was something which I had been wanting to add to my wardrobe for years but could never seem to find the right pair, they always were ill-fitting on the waist or too tight on the legs so for a while I gave up, until I saw a Facebook ad a few weeks ago for a page called Lucy and Yak. They handmake dungarees (amongst other items of clothing) and are big on ethics plus all of their packaging is biodegradable which is a huge bonus. The dungarees also come packaged in a handmade drawstring bag which is a super lovely touch for keeping them stored away nicely. I went for their 'Original' dungarees in Maroon, the colour goes pretty well with my hair colour and is also very versatile so they go with a lot of the tops and jumpers in my wardrobe. The fit of the dungarees is pretty relaxed and slouchy, which I like as it means they are really comfortable to wear and can also be worn with thicker knits underneath- as well as fleece-lined tights for when it is really chilly; glam.

One of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe for Winter are the Primark turtlenecks, they are only about £6, are pretty well made and wash really well. With my dungarees, I wore one of the thinner Primark jumpers which I own; it is black and a ribbed fabric which adds texture to the quite simple look.

In terms of the rest of the outfit, I wore my new Topshop winter boots, which I spotted ages ago and was eager to snap up once they'd been restocked. I love the buckle and stud details on them and they are so comfortable for uni, they did rub one of my heels the first time I wore them but have been fine since and are my current go-to shoes.

I kept it quite simple with the accessories I wore, and stuck to my usual rings, some pom pom earrings from the Kommunity Night Market in Newcastle and my beloved H&M baker boy cap which I got through Depop and wear all the time; cost per wear must be down to a few pence now!

*This post is not sponsored, I bought the dungarees with my own money, I am just a huge fan of Lucy and Yak as a brand so wanted to share them!
