December is upon us which means it’s finally acceptable to stay in bed and watch Elf with a mince pie- not that I haven’t been doing that since the end of November… It also means that we’re in the season of festive parties, whether that’s a work party or a party with friends or family, it’s an excuse to get dressed up in your most glittery outfit!
As you know, if you read my blog regularly, I am a champion of ethical brands, so thought I would talk a little bit about some ethically-minded brands where you can pick up your party frock. I know that my usual go-to of secondhand clothing isn’t for everyone, so first up is Jack Wills, a brand which I didn’t know is actually part of the Ethical Trading Initiative! They have an amazing selection of partywear as well as other Winter essentials, so I am sure that a Jack Wills Gift Card wouldn’t go amiss as a Christmas present this year! Another place where you can pick up a more ethical Christmas party outfit is your local vintage shop, I bought the one in this post from COW Vintage in Manchester a couple of months ago and Christmas is the perfect excuse to wear it, it is so unique so is bound to keep me looking completely different to everyone else this Festive season!
Peekaboo Vintage on ASOS Marketplace is also a vintage shop on my radar for the party season, they stock some of the prettiest vintage clothes that I’ve ever seen, although the price reflects this, if you are looking for a dreamy 70s dress for Christmas then Peekaboo Vintage is a good shout. Last but not least, we have one of my favourite independent brands, Vintage Style Me, who make vintage-inspired dresses by hand in their studio, they have so many gorgeous velvet, sequined and glittery smocks and swing dresses so definitely stock something for everyone!
